Who we are
HuntMe Links is an affiliate platform for publishers, operated by HuntMe Links LLC. We aggregate merchant programmes from affiliate networks, give you links to promote them, track the sales you generate and pay you your share.
The data controller is HuntMe Links LLC, 213 Boundary St NW, Lenoir, NC 28645, United States. For anything about your data, contact support@huntmelinks.com, or write to us from the Help screen once you are signed in.
This policy covers the publisher dashboard. It does not cover the merchant websites you send traffic to; once someone follows your link to a shop, that shop’s own policy applies.
What we collect, and why
Your account. Your name, email address and a hashed version of your password. We never store the password itself. This is what identifies you and lets you sign in.
Your publisher profile. Company name, street address, city, postcode, country and preferred currency. We need these to know who we are contracting with and paying.
Your payment details. Account holder name, bank account reference, bank name, SWIFT code, bank country and tax identifier. These exist for one purpose: to pay you what you have earned.
Your channels. The name, address, type, region and audience size of the sites and accounts you promote through. Advertisers see these when deciding whether to approve you.
Your links and the clicks on them. Each link you generate, and for each click a timestamp, a country code, the browser’s user-agent string, the referring page and a hashed IP address. We store a hash rather than the address itself, so the original cannot be recovered from our records. This is how a sale is credited to you and how fraudulent traffic is detected.
Your earnings. Sale amounts, commission, your share and the status of each transaction, as reported to us by the networks.
Messages you send us. The subject and text of anything you send from the Help screen, and our replies. Kept so there is a record of what was asked and what you were told.
Why we are allowed to hold it
Most of it because we have a contract with you and cannot perform it otherwise: we cannot credit a sale without tracking the click, and we cannot pay you without your bank details.
Click records and fraud checks rest on our legitimate interest in making sure commission is paid to the right publisher. Records of payments made are kept because tax and accounting law requires it.
Analytics runs on your consent, and nothing else. Google Analytics is not loaded until you accept it on the notice shown on your first visit. If you decline, no analytics script runs and no analytics cookie is set — not a reduced version, none at all. You can change your mind at any time using the methods in the cookie notice, and you can ask us to delete what has already been collected by writing to support@huntmelinks.com. Nothing we measure this way affects your account, your links or what you are paid.
Who else sees it
The affiliate networks. We work with Impact and Awin. When you generate a link, an identifier for your account travels with it so the network can attribute the sale back to you, and the network sends us the resulting transactions. The networks do not receive your bank details, your address or your password.
Our hosting provider. The application and its database run on servers operated by Hetzner in Germany. Backups are stored in the same place.
Our email provider. Password reset codes and support replies are sent through an SMTP mail service, which necessarily handles your email address.
Google Analytics. We use it to count visits and see which screens are used. It receives your IP address, your browser and device type, and the pages you open on this site. It does not receive your name, your email address, your bank details or anything about your earnings, and we have not enabled any advertising or remarketing feature. The cookie notice explains how to opt out.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Where your data lives, and where we are
Your data is stored on servers in Germany. We are based in the United States, so when we administer the service we access that data from the US, and the affiliate networks we work with operate internationally.
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, that means your personal data is transferred outside your own jurisdiction. We transfer it only where it is necessary to run the service and pay you, and we hold it to the standards described in this policy wherever it is.
How long we keep it
Your account and profile are kept for as long as your account is open. Database backups are taken nightly and kept for thirty days, so deleted data can persist in a backup for up to a month after removal.
Financial records — transactions and payments — are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, which is longer than the account itself. Click records are kept while they are needed to support the transactions they relate to.
Keeping it safe
Traffic to the site is encrypted. Passwords are stored hashed and are not recoverable. Your session lives in a cookie the page itself cannot read, which limits what a malicious script could do. Access to the administration screens is restricted by role and enforced on the server as well as in the interface.
No system is perfect. If we discover a breach affecting your data, we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, object to how we are using it, or ask for it in a portable form.
Some of it we may have to keep despite a deletion request — records of money paid, for instance, where the law requires us to retain them. We will tell you if that applies and why.
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, those rights are yours under the UK GDPR or the GDPR, which apply to us because we offer this service to publishers there. If you are not satisfied with our answer you can complain to your national data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office.
If you are a California resident, you may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, ask us to delete it, and are entitled not to be treated differently for asking. We do not sell personal information.
Whoever and wherever you are, write to support@huntmelinks.com and we will answer.
Cookies
We set a small number of cookies, all of them either necessary to keep you signed in or remembering a preference you chose. There is no analytics or advertising cookie anywhere in the product. The Cookie notice lists every one.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Where a change materially affects how we handle your data, we will tell you rather than relying on you to notice.
